ZTs inspired by the theme Spring on Flickr's Dutch Zentangle group

I'd like to share those wonderful, amazing and beautiful Zentangles made by my dear Zentangle friends on our Flickr group Dutch Zentangles, based on the theme Spring.

The first one is made by Rooike1 (Jeanet), a very talented woman who's become a very dear Zentangle friend of mine. It's called "A bit of spring".

The second ZT is made by Kraai65, a woman with many talents as you can see on her Flickr Photostream. This one is called "Lente (Spring)".

This third one is from Sandra van der Geest, a "newbie" amongst the Zentanglers. She just wanted to give it a try once and participated with the following ZT, which I think is gorgeous. More ZTs by Sandra's hand to follow...

Fourth in line... Mariet Dronten, please do have a look at her Flickr Photostream. Besides her ZTs she makes extraordinary and beautiful drawings. I think she's a very talented and creative artist. Enjoy her art!

The fifth, spring inspired ZT made by Dinie54, also a "newbie" amongst the Zentanglers. Famous for her gorgeous ATCs, which I really admire.

And last, but surely not the least, a ZT from Yvonne's ATC . A newbie as well on Zentangles. I "met" Yvonne on the SA (Scrappersanonimous)-forum and since then I'm a real fan of her art! She makes gorgeous and extraordinary ATCs, I think she's a stamp-goddess! :-)

Thank you all my dear Zentangle friends for sharing your amazing ZTs with all of us all over the world.

New theme "Love/Valentine" on Flickr's Dutch Zentangles

As from today the new theme on Flickr's group Dutch Zentangles is "Love/Valentine".

Thought it would be fun to do Zentangles with a love theme and since Valentine's day is just around the corner...
So let your heart speak and tangle with love!

You're "killing two birds with one stone" (twee vliegen in een klap)...
You had fun with tangling and on Valentine's day you'll have a very personal present for the one you love. ;-)

Here are some templates you can use:

To transfer the images on your paper you can print them out, "colour" the back of the copy with a grey/black pencil and then turn the copy put it on your paper and go around the lines with a sharp pencil to transfer the image.

Have fun and show us your "Lovely Valentine" Zentangles!

Dutch Zentangle group on Yahoo Flickr

The other day I created a new group "Dutch Zentangles" on Flickr. Since there was no group for Dutch Zentangle artists on Flickr I thought it was a good idea to start one. Holland is "blessed" with so many creative artists. That's something we really can be proud of. Applaus for our Dutch creative souls!

Once in every two weeks there will be a theme, which is not meant to be a challenge. It's just an extra or when you're facing an "inspiration-block".

This week (untill Saturday) we have Spring as a theme. My dear Flickr friends made really beautiful Spring themed Zentangles.

As administrator of this group I participated also.
So I had a try and the following Zentangles are the result:

For those among you who don't recognize them...
These are Easter eggs, which I associate with Spring.

Duckling swimming for the first time with it's mom.

Chicks having fun!
Need I say more....?

Why I love making Zentangles....

I learned about Zentangles just at the right moment in my life!
They really saved the day, or actually they saved the last few months.
I don't know where I would have been without Zentangles and my dear "friends" on Flickr.

Creating Zentangles worked and still works as a sort of therapy for me. It's meditating and creating at the same time. Your mind is focused on the proces of creating. Your thoughts are being diverted from your daily stress, problems, worries to those lovely black lines you're drawing on paper. Sometimes this proces even sorts out your problems, makes things clear in a sort of light bulb moment. In fact, that's what happened to me more than once.

Like Sandra Strait of Life Imitates Doodles says:
"I am not a certified zentangle teacher, or in any way associated with the official Zentangle company. Just a devoted fan of their method."
